A Piping Plover was present at McKinley Beach along with the other shorebirds. This bird was reported a couple of days ago. It moved along the algae mat with the other shorebirds. I have not heard if this bird has been checked for the colored bands it has on it’s legs. Also present were 6 Semipalmated Sandpipers and a Killdeer. All these shorebirds made a for an exciting event. Images were taken on May 23, 2017
