While out birding on some back roads in Sawyer County I came across a Great Blue Heron. It was standing on a log preening when I went by. A beautiful morning out with temps in the upper 50’s to start and sunny skies. Images were taken on July 2, 2021

Excellent pics Jim!
Without your photos, Jim, one could never imagine a bird with such beauty! The wing feathers of many sizes, shapes and hues, even charcoal epaulets on the shoulder! The neck feathers so gorgeous, it’s hard to imagine anything more delicate – they seem to collapse onto the bird’s neck when his attention is interrupted. I’m sure the rock itself was honored to be chosen as royal perch for that morning! I’m utterly mesmerized by these captures, Jim!
