One of my birding stops today gave nice looks at a pair of Wood Ducks. They were just swimming around doing their thing while I patiently observed their actions. The nice light this morning brought out the very best in Wood Duck breeding colors. It was a cool morning to start with stiff winds, never really got pleasant out. Images were taken on April 9, 2020.

Wow! You captured so many subtleties within those dramatic colors both with the male and female. Thankyou!
Beautiful Jim. Got to love wood ducks! Still waiting for my dragons. Not many birds to image of late. I bought a new camera body and I want to get out and shoot.
Love these! I find wood ducks to be very shy, compared to mallards, and difficult to get such love, detailed photos. Great job!
Fabulous photos, Jim!
Thanks so much for sharing these gorgeous photos!
Beautiful images and birds Jim! Thank you!!
Such stunning markings and colors on the male..
But, the female is lovely, too!
